Year of the Asian Reading Challenge 2019

I’ve definitely been meaning to join this challenge since I first started hearing about it back in January but kept telling myself I was waiting until I had a blog to put it on. GUESS WHO HAS A BLOG UP AND RUNNING NOW?

So, what is the challenge? Simply put, the goal is to read as many books written by Asian authors as you can in 2019! It doesn’t matter if it’s a 2019 publication, an older book, or even an ARC set to come out next year – just make sure you start and finish the book in 2019. Given that I’m writing this post up a while (read: months) after I actually started the challenge, I can tell you that I’ve already found new favorite authors that I might have otherwise overlooked. Rin Chupeco’s Bone Witch series literally owns my soul and Renée Ahdieh has pretty much been added to my auto-buy author list and I’ve only been doing this challenge for 3 months! We have a whole 9 more to go!

I’ve selected the Giant Panda (so cute) goal for YARC2019 which means I’m aiming to read 31-40 books for this challenge! I’ll be updating this thread with my progress but I also intend to do monthly updates.
