I haven’t done one of these in forever? And it’s not because I haven’t been using the library – it’s that I’ve been using the library almost exclusively (broke girl summer, anyone?), and literally all of my posts would have just been repeats of the same books I’d already shared before. I have not, however, physically gone to the library in ages. It’s entirely possible that the last time I went was in the middle of winter. However, given that this was a holiday weekend, I wanted to do something special so I finally was able to get down to the library and pick up some honest-to-god, real, physical books on Friday. I wanna hear those crinkly covers, you know what I mean?
I picked up half a dozen books and decided that I was going to change things up and take a picture this time. And let me tell you, every time I go to take pictures of books for my blog I have more and more respect for bookstagrammers. I don’t know how any of you do it. I can barely get things so that there isn’t glare and the lighting isn’t entirely awful. I certainly don’t have any props I can use sitting around. Believe me, I tried so hard to find ones for today. I have nothing fall in my house except soaps and shower gels from Bath and Body Works.
Also, Mr. Ping really wanted to participate. Obviously only while the camera was out and I was trying to work because he’s gone right back to chilling in an old amazon box now that I’m not trying to take pictures.
Onto the actual books themselves!
Ruse by Cindy Pon I love love loved Want and made sure that getting the sequel was my first goal when I went to the library. I want more of this world so bad! As of writing this post (on Sunday afternoon) I’m about 30 pages in and enjoying it so far!
A Line in the Dark by Malinda Lo This was a random grab off the shelf knowing that I wanted to read more by Lo. It had a creepy cover so I was in. Given reviews, I might want to more carefully curate my choice next time? We’ll see.
Tell Me How You Really Feel by Aminah Mae Safi I read this on Saturday and it was everything I wanted it to be and then some. A sapphic enemies to friends to lovers situation with such a satisfying ending.
Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills Someone recommended this to fans of boy bands and like, that’s me! We’ll see how it goes. I honestly don’t know what to expect.
My So-Called Bollywood Life by Nisha Sharma This has been on my TBR forever and every time I went in to the library in the past it was checked out. Not this time!
Wicked Fox by Kat Cho I’ve wanted to read this forever. I remember counting down to the release date and then, you know, not reading it, because that’s just how life goes sometimes.
Have you read any of these? Pick up some fun books at the library lately? Share them with me in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
